Fundraising Tips

Here are some fundraising tips to get you started: 

We raised $1.2m through our events in 2011, and you can continue to fundraise through your exisitng fundraising page.

The more money you raise, the more hope you give by supporting the Leukaemia Foundation’s Vision to Cure and Mission to Care.

1. Use your online Profile Page

Encourage everyone on your team to use online fundraising. It’s free and it’s a great way to raise funds.

Just log in.  Add your own photos, messages and comments to your Profile Page to ensure it’s telling your sponsors about your reasons for taking part. Then email all your contacts and watch the dollars roll in! 

2. Bake some angel cakes to sell

Download our recipe which makes 36 angel cakes .

Eat one yourself (you deserve it for doing all the cooking)!

Sell the rest for $2 each and you'll make $70.

Take them to work for morning tea, sell them at church or your social or sports club, or run a cake stall.

3. Think of other ways to raise funds

Get everyone at your work to give donations, and ask the boss if your company will match the dollars raised by your team.

4. Aim to be a Bright Spark

At Light the Night events we offer incentives for each team member as they reach these fundraising levels.

Bright Spark: Raise $250 to receive a Light the Night polo shirt.

Bright Star: Raise $500 to upgrade to an exclusive Light the Night backpack.

Bright Light: Raise $1,000 to be acknowledged as a Bright Light on the night, plus choose from our range of Bright Light products including fleeces, bags and vests embroidered with the Bright Light logo, plus a special lapel pin in recognition of your achievement. 

How to raise $250

Sell a batch of Angel cakes	$70
Ask 2 family members to sponsor you for $20 each	$40
Ask 2 co-workers for $20 each	$40
Ask 5 people you know from your club or school for $10 each	$50
Ask 5 friends for $10 each	$50
