How to take part

• Who can take part?

  Anyone can participate in Light the Night, including family, friends, schools, community groups, clubs, hospitals, pubs, hotels and businesses large and small.

• How do I sign up?

  Sign up online here.

  We’ll ask you for some basic contact information including an email address (it’s the cheapest way for us to contact you). We’ll ask you for a username and password so you can log in to the website and ask people to join you, or sponsor you if you decide to fundraise.

• Can a team of us take part?

  We encourage you to take part with a team of family members, friends and colleagues. Start a team and nominate yourself as the team captain.

• How do I get people to join my team?

  Invite family, friends and work colleagues to join your team by email – log in and click “Recruit Team Members”.  This email contains a link - click this link and you’ll be taken to the team’s page. You click the ‘Join This Team’ button and follow the instructions from there. 

  You can also use social media, like your facebook page, send SMS messages and phone your friends and ask them to join you and to register.

• How can I invite people to join my team?

  Team captains can sign in to the website and send an email to invite people to join their team. The email contains a link – click that and you’ll be taken to the team’s page. You click the ‘Join this team’ button and follow the instructions from there.

  You can also ask your friends and family in person, by phone, SMS or anyway you choose!
