• How do I get sponsors?

  When you sign up, create your own Profile Page so that you can upload photos, list your goal and tell people about you and your team. Send emails asking for sponsorship – sign in and click “Get sponsors". The email contains a link to your page, so people can sponsor you with their credit card – they get an email receipt straight away – easy! Asking people to donate online is the easiest way.  

  Start asking for sponsorship as early as possible by asking everyone you know to sponsor you: family, friends, work colleagues, neighbours, clients, customers, other stores or departments and suppliers.

  Use your official book of receipts to give to sponsors who give you cash or cheques.

  Don’t know how to ask? Use our templates to download emails, letters, email signatures and more.  

  Remember that by asking someone to sponsor you, you are actually giving them an opportunity to support an extremely worthwhile cause.

• Can I knock on doors in my street to ask for donations?

  Please don’t doorknock your neighbourhood to collect sponsorship or promote Light the Night.  In many council areas around Australia, doorknocking is illegal without a special permit.

• What do I do if I’ve run out of receipts?

  Need to order more receipt books? You can call us on 1800 500 088 or contact us.

• How do I sponsor someone?

  Click the ‘Sponsor’ button top left of any page on this website and search for the person you want to sponsor.  When their name appears in the list, click their name and you’ll arrive at their Profile Page.  Then it’s easy to click “Sponsor Me” and follow the instructions. A tax deductible receipt and a thank you are sent by email directly to you.

  OR

  Give cash or a cheque to the shaver you want to sponsor.  They will give you a tax receipt and deposit your donation in to the bank.

• Can I donate to the whole team and not one person on the team?

  Yes, click the ‘sponsor’ button top left of any page on this website and when the search screen appears, click the ‘Team’ tab.  Search for the Team using the team name or the name of the captain.  When their team name appears in the list, click the team name and you’ll arrive at the Team’s Profile Page.  Then it’s easy to click “Sponsor the team” and follow instructions to complete the donation. A tax deductible receipt and a thank you are sent by email directly to you.  Your sponsorship goes towards the team total without sponsoring a specific member of the team.
