Why is there a $20 registration fee this year?
Light the Night helps to create a brighter future by raising funds for research, and free services to support Australian families.
It was great to see so many people register last year and raise money beforehand - it was a big fundraising effort from many of our supporters. However many more people simply turned up on the night and we only received $4 on average from them, which didn't cover the cost of their balloon.
This year we have replaced balloons with beautiful new lanterns which you can take home and keep shining through the year.
We are asking for $20 from everyone who wants to come, and to keep it affordable for families, children 12 and under are free.
We are still encouraging everyone to fundraise on top and we'll only send fundraising kits to the people who do. This saves the Leukaemia Foundation money which can be used to fund more research and free services to support our Vision to Cure and Mission to Care.
