If someone sponsors me, do they also have to pay $20 if they want to come on the night?
Yes. Every adult who wants to come to Light the Night and carry their own lantern needs to pay $20. This is a registration fee and includes entry to the event, live entertainment, access to food stalls and of course the beautiful lantern to keep.
This fee is completely separate to fundraising.
If someone sponsors you or makes a donation, that's great. It adds to your fundraising total and your sponsor is entitled to a tax-deductible receipt for their donation.
If they want to attend the event, they also need to pay their own registration fee of $20 (which is not tax-deductible and includes GST by the way).
